A single bounded box — the appliance you own — inside which an ant colony grows over time:
starting from a small nest on the floor, branching tunnels are excavated and new chambers open
to fill the box, with ants walking the passages. The colony never leaves the box.// The Colony

A living ant colony held inside a perimeter wall. Ants leave a central nest and walk outward
toward the wall along radial trails, but every ant turns cleanly back at the boundary — leaving a
